L'Hermione Re-enactors Volunteer Form

Overview

L'HermioneL'Hermione, a replica of the French tall ship that Lafayette sailed from France to America to meet Washington with reinforcements in 1780, is coming to Alexandria Wednesday, June 10 through Friday, June 12! In addition to (free) ticketed tours of the ship, the crew is also setting up a heritage village next to the Torpedo Factory that will be open to the public.

As a host city, Alexandria needs to staff visitor services, which includes keeping the onlookers and 100+ people waiting in line to board informed and entertained. To aid in this, we are seeking re-enactors with 1780 clothing to engage with guests as citizens of or visitors to Alexandria. Sign up to volunteer and be a part of a huge event that is being billed as one of the top 5 things coming to Alexandria in 2015! For more information about the tall ship, visit hermione2015.com.

Shift Information:
Volunteer shifts are 2.5 hours long. For those volunteering for back-to-back shifts, an indoor break space is available. Please limit personal belongings as there is no secure on-site storage. Volunteers should report to the Information Booth behind the Torpedo Factory 15 minutes prior to the start of their shift to check in.

Volunteers driving can park in the Market Square Parking Garage, 108 N. Fairfax St., and bring their pass to the info booth for validation. The garage is 3 blocks from the Torpedo Factory.

Re-enactors are responsible for providing their own clothing. If you have questions, please contact Gretchen.Bulova@alexandriava.gov.
